I stained my log home (southern yellow pine)with Flood CWF Cedar. I always thought it was too orange. I plan to pressure wash with Jomax and a light bleach combo and scrub it with a stiff nylon brush to cut as much of the old stain off as possible. I want to go brown but not too dark so I’m leaning toward the Dark Oak. Do you think I’ll have problems hiding the old Cedar color? Thank You!

The Flood product is several years old. The last time I cleaned the house I used a pressure washer and Jomax combined with bleach. While it soaked in I scrubbed the house with a stiff nylon brush. Is there an alternative to removing the old CWF Flood stain so I can apply the TWP1500? I sure prefer to avoid having to sand the entire structure. Thank you!

After I finish the entire removal process including the brightener how long should I wait before I apply the stain?

Used RAD strip & brighten on cedar siding then applied TWP 1500 dark oak, but it’s so dark and I don’t care for how it looks. Will this brighten over time? If I wanted to remove this and put a lighter stain would RAD strip & brighten remove this freshly applied stain back to the natural cedar?

I stained my fence with 12 gallons of 1500 California redwood 5 years ago. It’s Time to restrain. I’m planning on using the 2 step restore-a-deck and Then staining with the same color as before- California redwood. Is this the correct approach and should I assume that I’ll need 12 gallons or would 10 gallons be enough?

many thanks,
barry

Ok… scientifically what is your LIGHTEST color of ALL your stains (100’s..1500’s, etc) that CAN be mixed into a dark 1500 stain to lighten it… (and hence keep 100% UV protection) ???

What is the maximum amount of “clear” you can add to a mixture (to make a color lighter) and still get FULL UV protection… 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%,etc… ????

I recently purchased a 5 gallon container of 1500 series California Redwood, to restain my pressure treated pine deck, stairs, handrails and balusters.
Unfortunately, we did not pre-order a sample of this color, way to yellow.

We expecteted it to be more “redwood”, not pine colored.

We have only used about a 1/2 gallon at this point, I am looking for a recommendation of what color could I add to bring the remainder of the stain to a more acceptable color tone.

We were looking for a “Teak” or Caramel color.

Any help at this point would be appreciated.

I am looking forward to your recommendation.

TIA

I put cedartone on my dock 4 years ago. I just pressure washed really good and sanded where I felt I needed to. I want to use honeytone color now. What do you think?

Our 2 small treated wood decks are about 5 years old and we really need to have the wood protected, but am having a hard time matching a color that would coordinate with our house siding. I enclosed a picture of our home if you have recommendations for color. Thankyou.

I have stained my log house with TWP (#1501) and my pressure treated (4 years old) deck. The deck does not last more than a year or two. Is there a dedicated “Deck stain”? Thanks Mark

I applied the stain and there are shiny areas that look like they are wet but aren’t. What can be done to not have these shiny areas?

I have a 400ft2 pressure treated deck and want to stain it with the TWP 1500. In order to apply the second coat as directed within 30 minutes, I would have to walk on the first coat. Can this be done without damaging the first coat? Do you have any suggestions?
