TWP 1500 is a Semi-transparent Oil-Based wood stain and preservative that is allowed in all 50 states.

The new TWP® 1500 formula is designed to penetrate better, dry faster and outperform the previous TWP® 500 series formula.

TWP® 1500 Series is an EPA registered wood preservative which prevents structural damage and wood decay on exterior above ground wood surfaces such as fencing, decking, wood siding, log homes, and roofing. TWP® 1500 Series resists water absorption that causes warping, cracking and splitting as well as preventing freeze damage in colder climates.

TWP® 1500 Series is a low VOC preservative with special U.V. absorbing pigments that prevent unsightly wood graying, darkening and fading. The selected mildewcides inhibit the growth of mold and mildew which assist in preventing premature discoloration.

TWP® 1500 Series will keep your wood beautiful, fresh and looking new longer. The ease of application and maintenance will allow you to enjoy your investment for years to come.

I did the deck stain calc for 900sqft and it indicated I should get 9 gallons. But the Stain Info said each gallon covers 150-250sqft. Which means 4-6 gallons. So I don't over order, what would be good? This is only for a flat surface, no railings.

Ian, the 1515 Honeytone would be the closest.

Just had a new cedar deck built. What color in the 1500 series will make the cedar just look wet?

You apply the second coat as soon as you are done with the first coat.

We are in the process of building our log home and it is almost complete. We are using TWP 1500 for the exterior. (Natural) Can TWP 1500 also be used for the interior vertical wood log wall sides ? We\'d like to go with TWP 1500 Honeytone for the interior but not sure if it can be used on interior wood.

    Thanks !

Probably the excess heat and possible over application of the stain. I would brush them out ASAP.

I put a coat of 1500 series stain on my deck. I am noticing some very small bubbles on the serface in some spots. Should I ignore this or try to brush htem out? What causes this situation? The first half of the deck did not have this occurence and dried in about 42 hours. It has been about 24 hours since I did the second half and that is where the bubbles are appearing.

We just built PT pine deck,we are looking for product to protect/seal the wood from sun and water with the longest life.
This deck is in direct sunlight all day and we see quite a bit of snow
    in New England.
    What is your recommendation?
    Thank you

Should I coat the new PT wood along with the old, or wait for it to age some before staining?

I would lightly spray on the first coat then back coat the second coat with a stain pad.

It is not possible to match new and old wood with a stain. It will eventually but not the first time you stain the wood.

What method do you recommend for optimal durability and appearance on a hot and sunny, Southern faced deck: spraying, rolling, pad? Thank you.

We had to replace some boards on an older deck. We are using redwood color to blend with previous stain. Should I coat the new PT wood along with the old, or wait for it to age some before staining? I would rather have it look weird temporarily rather than have a permanent difference in color.

Can new 1500 series be used over 500 series that has been discontinued? We are ready to restain, but fearful that this won\'t adhere.
