TWP 1500 is a Semi-transparent Oil-Based wood stain and preservative that is allowed in all 50 states.

The new TWP® 1500 formula is designed to penetrate better, dry faster and outperform the previous TWP® 500 series formula.

TWP® 1500 Series is an EPA registered wood preservative which prevents structural damage and wood decay on exterior above ground wood surfaces such as fencing, decking, wood siding, log homes, and roofing. TWP® 1500 Series resists water absorption that causes warping, cracking and splitting as well as preventing freeze damage in colder climates.

TWP® 1500 Series is a low VOC preservative with special U.V. absorbing pigments that prevent unsightly wood graying, darkening and fading. The selected mildewcides inhibit the growth of mold and mildew which assist in preventing premature discoloration.

TWP® 1500 Series will keep your wood beautiful, fresh and looking new longer. The ease of application and maintenance will allow you to enjoy your investment for years to come.

I have a 2 year old cedar deck, I used Flood CWF -UV stain (oil based), but its got black mold...I plan to clean with restore-a-deck, and apply the TWP1500 cedar tone, as it seems to be highly recommended....

Do I need to strip as well?

You need to strip instead of cleaning. You do not need to clean. Use the RAD Stripper followed by the RAD brightener.

    Hi ,

I just wanted to clarify that the ,TWP 1500 stain -CLEAR , is transparent and doest NOT contain pigments that would alter the color of my redwood fence which is greying and which is fine with me. I wanted a clear oil stain to penetrate the wood that was top quality. I have 3,000 square feet to cover , will (3) 5 gallons work and will I need a second coat ?
    Thanks ,
    Paul

Clear has no pigment. For two coats you will need 6 of the 5 gallon pails. For one coat you will need 4 of them.

One coat is probably enough for the Clear on a fence.

    Vanessa:
We used 1500 series last year and really liked it. I had almost a full 5 gallon left over. It was opened a year ago. When I opened it recently it was separated, but upon stirring it looked good. Can we use it now, or is it too old? Would love to get the $200 worth. Thanks.

If it blends well and has not "thickened" then it should be good.

I live in Colorado, it is hot and dry. What would be better to use TWP100 or TWP1500 on a redwood deck that is about 8 years old? I have sanded it down and starting over from scratch.

    Use the TWP 1500 Series.

    ruddy:
Thanks in advance-Does the clear have a UV protector.
Re applying the clear or natural 2 years later requires just a power washing?
The areas that are not worn out on the deck flooring -can they be feathered in to meet and match with the same product as existing?

    Thank you

No the clear will not protect form UV. Natural does. Prep with the Gemini Restore Kit when redoing in 2 years so it all blends.

I have a two year old deck originally with cabot oil based transparent stain. If I want to apply TWP 1500, do I need just only the cleaner or do I need a cleaner and a stripper?
You need to strip and brighten the wood for the prep.
So If I strip and brighten the wood then do I still need to clean it first?

If you strip you do not need to clean.

    Dennis Fulton:
I previously applied Behr Premium Clear Weatherproofing Wood Sealer and Finisher #500 Natural Cedar about a year ago to my deck. Most has peeled off the older wood, some still adheres to the newer wood. Do I need to use a stripper first and then a brightener? Or just a cleaner and brightener?

You need to remove the Behr so use the stripper and brightener.
