TWP 1500 is a Semi-transparent Oil-Based wood stain and preservative that is allowed in all 50 states.

The new TWP® 1500 formula is designed to penetrate better, dry faster and outperform the previous TWP® 500 series formula.

TWP® 1500 Series is an EPA registered wood preservative which prevents structural damage and wood decay on exterior above ground wood surfaces such as fencing, decking, wood siding, log homes, and roofing. TWP® 1500 Series resists water absorption that causes warping, cracking and splitting as well as preventing freeze damage in colder climates.

TWP® 1500 Series is a low VOC preservative with special U.V. absorbing pigments that prevent unsightly wood graying, darkening and fading. The selected mildewcides inhibit the growth of mold and mildew which assist in preventing premature discoloration.

TWP® 1500 Series will keep your wood beautiful, fresh and looking new longer. The ease of application and maintenance will allow you to enjoy your investment for years to come.

    Tommy Topper:
My deck is around 9 months old and 3/4ths of it is covered. The uncovered section has greyed more vs. the covered section. Any tips to staining? I'm worried covered and non covered sections won't match.

Prepping with the Gemini Restore Kit will help to remove the graying and even out the surface for the staining.

After using a 5 gal pail, there will be some left over. How long will this last for re-use for touch ups or reapplication? Thx.

    Jakub Nowak:
Does your calculator assume you're covering the underside of the deck as well? Thanks!

I ask because I have. 20x45 deck with about 100 feet of railing and your calculator says to get 13 gallons. My deck however sits 6 inches above the ground so I will not be staining the underside of deck. Thanks.

No it does not consider the underside nor do you need to stain the underside. For two coats and your deck, you will need about 11-13 gallons.

    Randee:
If re-staining with 1501 Cedartone the deck does not need to be stripped and cleaned, correct? Just cleaned?

Use the Gemini Kit prep kit when reapplying. It is a cleaner and wood brightener.

    Randee:
Three years ago I used 1501 Cedartone on my deck flooring which looked great until about 6 months ago, so needless to say I'm happy with the product. Getting ready to re-stain and was curious if I can use another color?

Also, while there are still overall traces of the original stain, there are slightly gray areas, some algae, etc. Given this how should I prep the deck fro re-application?

    Thanks in advance.

We would suggest prepping with a pressure washer and the Restore A Deck Stripper Kit:

    http://www.twpstain.com/restore-a-deck-stripper-brightener-kit-detail

Once prepped you can change color.
