Sorry but we do not have anything that matches the Minwax.

We just completed installation of a new deck using treated pressure treated wood (tags on wood acquired through K-1 indicated Hixson Lumber, pressure treated using micronized copper azole). We want to stain with a more natural transparent product vs. any colors. Which series (100 or 1500) and product would you recommend. We live in Louisville, KY and deck gets full sun for 80% of the day. Also your comments on sealing the deck.

Do you have a comparable color to Minwax Provincial 211 stain? I want to use the TWP 100 on my new cypress garage carriage doors and the porvincial color seems to have a slight green tint to it when used on cypress that I really like. Thanks!

I would look at the TWP 1500 Series in Honeytone for the lightest color. No dealers but we can ship to you.

Hello - I just had a 670ft cedar deck built and I live in Washington state. I like a lighter color or not much color at all, don\'t want deck to look orange! Which of your stains would you recommend 100 vs 1500? Also, do you have any dealers in the greater Seattle/Tacoma area? Hate to wait for a UPS shipment.
    Thank you!!!!

The TWP 1500 would be best for the railings. No additional prep would be needed. 2 Gallons of stain should be enough.

I\'m having a hard time figuring coverage...I have 85 feet of railing and 1.5\" square cedar spindles...any guesstimate on amount of stain I will need? Also, I have pressure washed the 9 year old railing...looks almost bare. Now I plan to sand rough spots then stain. Do I need to do any further prep before staining?
Lastly, is the 1500 series stain the best choice for western exposure, full sun deck in Washington state? Thanks!

TWP is an oil based stain while Storm Shield is a water based stain.

What is the difference between your 1500 series and your storm shield for a 3 month old pressure treated wood deck in Northern VA? Thanks!

For new wood you should let it dry for at least a month then clean and brighten with the Gemini Restore-A-Deck Kit. Both series of TWP will work about the same. Only 1 coat for new wood.

    Hello,

I live in Raleigh North Carolina. So, we have rainy springs, crazy hot summer, and occasionally a winter cold enough to get some snow and ice. I just got a new deck installed and the builder advised us to use TWP stain. the deck will be in direct sunlight most of the day. Any suggestions on which stain to use? Thanks so much!

You can use TWP to stain Trex decking.

I have an 8 year old Trex deck that had a lot of mold. I cleaned pretty well but now want to seal it and guard against future mold. Will any of your products work on Trex?

I would use the Gemini Restore Kit to clean and brighten the wood then apply one coat of the TWP 1500 Series.

We have 3 month old pressure treated wood (#1) deck on NE side of house in Loudoun Co VA - how long to wait before treatment, what preparation should be done, and which series is best for this area?

No reason to stain all sides and in many cases that may cause issues. Best to install untreated then use the Kit after a couple of months to prep.

1500 has twice the solids then the 100. It may offer slightly better UV protection.

Thanks for the response on my earlier query. I have a follow-up. Do I have to use the Gemini Restore Kit on brand new Redwood (that has not even been installed yet)? I was planning on having each redwood board stained before they were installed. That way I can coat every side (would not be possible after installation). How do I use Gemini Restore Kit in my situation when I want to stain before installing the redwood planks?

Secondly, what is the difference between your 100 and 1500 series? Does one series have more solids? Is one series superior as far as durability, quality etc.? Thanks.

We are having a brand new redwood deck installed right now. I live in Colorado (elevation 5500 ft). Fair amount of snow in the winter. Summers are hot (90 to 100 degrees). Little or no humidity. Which stain would you recommend? TWP 100 series or 1500 or 500? Which of these series looks the best with redwood deck? By the way, what is the major difference between these series (other than VOC limits)?

And if it is a brand new deck, do I have any type of prep work before I put the stain? Thanks

I would use the TWP 100 for Michigan. Make sure to prep the deck with a deck cleaner and wood brightener first.

We installed an 8 x 30 deck made out of treated lumber [pine] in March, 2012 [4 months ago]. This is on the north side of our home in southern Michigan. It gets 1/2 sun; 1/2 shade. I see your TWP 100 is rated #1 and TWP 1500 is rated #3 in consumer reports. Which one would be the better product for us to use on this new wood? Sally
