TWP 200 Series Deck Stain Reviews & Information

The 200 Series TWP Stain is a heavily pigmented penetrating finish specifically designed to prolong the longevity of exterior wood surfaces. The high percent of solids formula is ideal for rough wood surfaces such as cedar shake siding and shingles but can also be used on decking. It rejuvenates aged siding and roofing by replacing lost natural oils while providing adequate weather protection.

The TWP 200 Series review suggests that the primary function of the stain is to protect the cell structure of the wood. TWP 200 contains paraffin oils that are non-drying and replace the shrinking natural oils found in wood. This greatly increases the wood’s longevity and improves its beauty. TWP 200 Series is especially effective on aged shakes and shingles that have been overexposed to harmful UV rays. It can restore flexibility and appearance to dry brittle shingles and wood siding.

The review of TWP 200 Series found it to be resistant to mold and mildew unlike other oil based stains. The penetrating and lubricating oil formula is also resistant to peeling, cracking and flaking. Maintenance is a breeze with TWP 200 Series. Simply wash the surface in need of maintenance and recoat. Once TWP 200 is applied, further water and sun damage is prevented. The revitalized wood surface is shielded from both UV and moisture damage. It also provides freeze thaw damage in colder climates.

TWP 200 can last several years depending on climate and environmental conditions. It applies in one coat but 2 coats can be applied if necessary. Two coats should be applied wet on wet. TWP 200 Stain is environmentally friendly and is compliant in all 50 states. It is an EPA registered wood preservative and is available in a variety of natural colors.

What’s the nearest semi solid color to a 1502 redwood? The redwood forest seems paler.

Live in Canada and currently cannot get to the US to get the pecan 1500 stain I used 2-3 years ago on my deck, what 200 series stain best matches the pecan colour?

Just built a new deck with Red Cedar decking. Really like the colors of the 200 series (203 and 206) but it says it is primarily for siding, log houses and shingles. Put a lot of time into building this and do not want to mess anything up by applying incorrect stain. Is this ok to apply? Thank you.

I purchased TWP 200 because it’s the only version I can get in Canada. I will use the Restore-A-Deck first, but what are the application instructions for my deck & stairs? How many coats? How many minutes between coats? How thin of a coat do I use? Apply with a brush? Wipe off? I’ve fought with paint on a previous deck for years, and I want to do this right the first time. Any help would be very much appreciated!

Great! So I’ll use the Restore-A-Deck, wait 48 hrs, apply 1 thin coat (no wipe required) to all surfaces, and that’s all? No second coat required on horizontal decking surface?

I’m in Michigan, so the 100 seems best and allowed, but I like the Cal-Cedar color and only see it in the 200. Can I get Cal-Cedar color in the 100 series stain?

Is TWP200 an oil based or acrylic stain. Do you clean brushes with lacure thinner or soap and water?

what happens if you put a coat of 201 over a coat that went on light a month or two earlier? Or do you highly advise against it and why? I dont understand the wet on wet concept for 2 coats.

One more question, in the top 200 series which color would be more brown with the least amount of red and orange. Thanks

I powerwashed my deck over the weekend and now need to sand to get rid of the remaining stain. Once I’ve completed that and hose it off do I need to clean and brighten or just brighten before staining. How long should I wait to stain after brightening? How many days of dry weather will I need in total? Any other suggestions? I plan to use TWP 200

Which is best for rough cut pine board and batten vertical siding under covered porch? TWP 100, 200, or 1500? TWP 200 was recommended so I’m not sure.

Is this stain oil based. Can it be applied to a deck that has oil based stain on it already.

I’m using iron wood for my deck. It has a janka rating of around 3000. It’s quite humid where I live. Which twp series is suited for me? How much does a 5 gallon bucket cover?

Will TWP 200series hold up on a deck surface (pressure treated pine) that is exposed to hot afternoon sun? Is this the product that you would recommend for hot Texas weather and can it be easily maintained or reapplied? About how long can I expect it to last?

I put 200 TWP clear on my cedar shake roof 7 years ago and now want to do it again with 200 TWP Butternut. What is the correct process for doing this after it was already put on 7 years ago?
