I would like a color a little more brown than pecan. Can I mix dark oak and pecan together without issues. I'm going to be using twp100. Also my PT fence is one year old. How many initial coats should I apply?

    Bob Ballenger:
I recently restrained my railing with Cedartone 100 series. I want to do a second coat but I can only buy 1500 series now. Will 1500 on top of 100'be OK?

Hello, no the 1500 cannot go on top of the 100 Series. Wait a couple of years, prep to remove the 100, and then apply the 1500.

I had a pressure treated privacy fence installed last August. I am going to stain it for the first time now. It has only a few grey stains. Do I need to clean it all first? Do you recommend 100 or 1500 series?

Prep with the Gemini Restore Kit that we offer on our site. Stain with TWP 1500.

    Mary Beth Lindsay:
    3 years old
    Pressure treated pine
    Good
    Yes, TWP
We have cleaned the deck, but there is still remnants of the previous application. Since we are using the same color, are we okay to go?

How did you clean? Did you use the Gemini Restore Kit?

    Daunelle Hughes:
We have a 10 year old deck made of pressure treated lumber. We live in Iowa so our winters are brutal and summers are scorching. Deck is 1,000 sq ft and sunny 90% of the day and southern facing. We have no pets and one teenager so the traffic area is primarily from the patio sliding door to the grill. The wood is in decent shape (very mild warping, some splits) because we have to clean and restain every year. Should 100 or 200 or 1500 be used in our case? I would be thrilled if we only had to restain every 3 years.

Prep well and use the TWP 100 Series. Apply two coats wet on wet. 2 years is normal maybe 3.

    Don Norris:
    1. Approximately 18 months old
    2. Treated yellow pine
    3. Clean and cured; deck was built September 2016
    4. No previous stain
    5. Large deck, railings, and two sets of steps

I am considering using TWP 100; what is your recommendation?

Where are you located? The 100 Series should work well as long as it is allowed in your state. Apply two coats "wet on wet".

    Jason Odegaard:
4 year old cedar deck. Was coated with twp 100 series 3 years ago and is needing redone. I have pressure washed the deck and it looks pretty good. Do I have to use a brightener or can I just reapply twp? When applying twp would you recommend one coat or two?

Clean and brighten for prep with Gemini Restore A Deck Kit. Apply 2 light coats with wet on wet application.
