I have a pressure treated pine deck that is 20 years old. It was last stained with thompsons 7 years ago and is mostly worn off.The wood is in good shape. What prep do I need to do? I am hoping to just power wash it.
    Thank you

Deck was built in 2006. Previously stained using a honey tone by olympic. I just power washed deck. Can I apply twp100 pecan to my deck?
    Thanks

As long as the Olympic was removed you can apply the TWP.

I have an old deck, I'm assuming about 20 years old. I'm assuming pine that is cracked but still solid. Unfortunately, I lapsed on maintenance so the solid stain sat on there for 7 years. I'm not sure what brand it was but it has since cracked. I have pressure washed it and most of the stain has come off with only about 10% remaining. I'll be removing the remaining solid stain soon. The area is approx 500 sq ft. After applying TWP, do I need to apply anything else on top of it? I live in Houston, TX and the area is about 70% direct sunlight, and 30% indirect sunlight.

    Constance Phillips:
we cleaned and stained our deck in sept 2011 with twp 100 cedartone, it needs to be done again this year, the wood is ipe, it's 4 years old. it held up pretty good, mostly fading not much black mildew at all. when it rains it no longer beads up. what do i have to use to remove old twp 100? we used m-1 deck and roof cleaner 3 years ago and it worked great. thanks

Use the Restore A Deck Stain stripper followed by the Wood Brightener for the prep.

MY HOUSE HAS BEEN STAINED WITH TWP 100 series in the past. It needs to be recoated. How do I know if I just need to clean it versus stripping it? What would the process be to strip it?

Strip if wearing unevenly. Clean if not. These articles explain the process:

    Pmerch:
I live in Austin TX, which is better 100 or 1500 for a new pine fence.

Fore a vertical fence in Texas you should use the 1500.

    Bubst:
I have a deck that is used frequently. Last year I applied TWP 101 to unsealed cedar decking. In the high traffic area the stain is wearing off. In some area bare wood is exposed. What is recommended for surface preparation before reapplying TWP 101.

Use the Gemini Restore Kit for the prep for another coat to the floors.

    jerry sweet:
Do you need a mask (resperator)to apply?
How long is does odor last?
Decks are approx. 15 years old but but sanded down to bare wood and cleaned with deck brightner. should I use 100 or 1500?
Thanks Jer[ Only want to apply one coat!!

You do not have to use a mask when applying. Odor does linger for a few days or so. Use the 100 if allowed otherwise the 1500.
