Here is how our TWP Color Sample Program works:
Pick as many TWP Colors as you would like by placing a check next to each then click "Add to Cart". Color swatches at bottom of the page.
All samples cost $10 each to ship. The sample size volume is roughly 1-2 oz. It is not a full 1/4 pint can but enough to test an area.
Once you decide to purchase a stain from our site, you can use the money you spent on the sample(s) towards the purchase of a 5 Gallon Pail of Stain!
Maximum $15 discount per customer. We will include instructions on how to get a credit with your samples.
TWP 100 Series and Semi-Solid Pro Series are not compliant in all states. TWP 1500 and 200 Series are compliant with all US States. Only the TWP 200 Series is allowed in Canada. Please read this for additional information:VOC States.
How To Claim Sample Credit
Enter your sample order number into the "Comment Area" during checkout. The sample credit will be issued after the order for the 5-gallon pail is placed. Typically, the next business day and will post to your Credit card or Pay Pal account within 3-8 business days.
The sample program cannot be combined with any promotional discount coupons!
TWP Semi-Solid Colors
Semi-Solid Pro-Series Samples are $10 each and may take 1-3 days to process because of the custom order.
I have a 20 year old deck that has a pressure treated floor that has been semi-transparent treated in the past and has always peeled. The privacy screen and railings are cedar. All parts of the deck horizontal and vertical have been stripped (to the best of my ability -- there are still sections of old stain that cannot be removed) and a cleaner has been applied.
I was looking at the TWP 100 in cedar grey for the floor (looking for a more solid type than another semi-transparent).
I would like to do the railings and spindles and privacy screen in white. These parts are cedar. What should I use to cover the cedar?
Am I on the right track? I'm also located in Ontario Canada so I'm not sure if I can order the products or not.
Sorry but TWP is not allowed there. We also do not have solid colors.
which color stain gives the most protection? I installed a pressure /treated deck (800 sq.ft.)? in 8/14. I will be ordering stain after the drying period.

I'm going to order some samples, but want to eliminate obvious wrong ones. In particular, we want to be in the brown direction, (cedar-ish) not overly dark, and above all, do NOT want orange. The wood is redwood with both sapwood and heartwood, so the orange would really stand out on the sap. Also, it's a fence, in Colorado, if that matters. I was looking at Rustic, but see that it's pretty red from a comment below, even though it looks pretty brown on my monitor. Dark Oak seems to be one possibility, if dark. Is Pecan another? Is the Cedartone pretty orange? Could we mix something with the Dark Oak to lighten it a bit, but keep the brown-ish tone? Thanks.
Dark Oak or Pecan and use you can mix colors together.

I have a 5 year old home with cedar siding with chinking between the planks which gives it a log home look. It was stained with Cabot semi transparent stain (oil) in their chestnut brown. The home is in Colorado at 7500' elevation. The UV is really strong here. The climate is relativley dry, we get very strong winter winds and the temperature can get as low as -20 and as high ass 90. The east and west side of the home is looking very thirsty and the siding is starting to turn a little dark. Will the TWP 1500 work and can you match the tint to the cabot color if we got the color formula? How long would you say the TWP would last in these conditions?
We do not color match and you would need to prep first by using the Restore A Deck Stripper and pressure washing to remove the Cabot. Apply brightener when finished. One verticals it will last 5-8 years, maybe longer.
Hi, we live in southern Indiana. We have a redwood deck that is 35 years old , and we are sanding with 40 grit sandpaper to remove all the old finish . I'm 65 years old and wife is 62 so we are not very fast we're in to our second week of sanding and may need another week to finish . The first wood we sanded has been rained on and is starting to lose it's red pinkish tint . What do we need to do after we finish sanded before we apply your 1500 product? We are thinking maybe the 1511 Cal. Red . Like I said we're kind of slow and don't know if we can get the second coat on before the first drys , should we try for two coats or put on one and then reapply next year? We do not want this peeling off like the last product we put on it which was Behr weather proofing wood finish. We are hoping to never have to sand again. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated . Thanks ,Ken
Use the Gemini Restore Kit after the sanding for the final prep. Get some samples from site for colors.
If you cannot do the wet on wet application then just do one coat now and one coat next year only if needed. Best to have full penetration.

I build outdoor furniture, Swings, Picnic Tables, Chairs by order. Customers are always asking me what to use on there furniture they just bought. I use to recomend Cabot oil stain, but Lowes does not sell it anymore. I want to give them the best product available. Does your product work well on sitting type furniture. Can you help me? Thanks Norman
Yes you can use TWP on exterior wood furniture as long as the wood is prepped correctly.
I bought camp in Western PA with rough cut wood siding. It has been stained at some point with an oilbased stain or linseed oil and needs refreshed. Can I put the TWP1500 over this? Looking at the Black walnut or Dark Oak. I was planning to powerwash and apply. Any suggestions?
You need to remove the old stain first if you want the TWP to perform properly.

TWP 1500 is a Semi-transparent Oil-Based wood stain and preservative that is allowed in all 50 states.
The new TWP 1500 formula is designed to penetrate better, dry faster and outperform the previous TWP 500 series formula.
TWP 1500 Series is an EPA registered wood preservative which prevents structural damage and wood decay on exterior above ground wood surfaces such fencing, decking, wood siding, log homes, and roofing. TWP 1500 Series resists water absorption that causes warping, cracking and splitting as well as preventing freeze damage in colder climates.
TWP 1500 Series is a low VOC preservative with special U.V. absorbing pigments that prevent unsightly wood graying, darkening and fading. The selected mildewcides inhibit the growth of mold and mildew which assist in preventing premature discoloration.
