We stained our house this past fall called "Ceramic pot" 0339, from Hallman Lyndsey, Shouldnt the stain of a deck, match the house stain, my husband and I are having a difficult time finding a stain. He has brought home 2 samples from your Madison store of Pecan 120 and rustic 1516. Which stain looks best with our house color? thankyou Tracy
I am applying TWP to a 15 year old dock. I replaced 4 of the docks boards and sanded the rest. I'm using Restore-A-Deck stripper and brightened. I know it is recommended to wait 3+ months for new wood. Would it be okay to treat the dock avoiding the 4 replaced boards and then after a few months put a second coat on the older wood and first coat on the new? I would really like to protect the older wood as soon as possible rather than delay for 4 boards through the hot summer with full sun exposure. Using TWP 1520 Pecan.
Since it is only 4 boards just stain it all now. You will have to apply another coat to the new boards this Fall or next Spring.

I want to re-stain a badly weathered deck. Live in southern Idaho (high desert climate). Deck is pressure treated pine, in full sun. Stained about 3 years ago with Olympic which has completely weathered off. Should we use 100 or 1500 for best longer lasting results?

I'm looking to add TWP to my year old cedar fence. Which product would work best, 100 or 1500? Also, I wanted to use clear but see there is no UV protection so I wondering if the clear can be mixed 50/50 with the Honey tone or cedar tone to provide some UV protection. I want to prolong the wood from graying. I have approximately 300 linear ft of 6 ft high shadow box style fence. Can you provide an estimate on how many gallons? Thank You!
To get sq footage of a fence you should multiply length x height x 2 for both sides. Coverage is about 125 sq. feet per gallon for two coats of the TWP. Use the 1500. It would be best to not dilute with clear as that means you are going to lower the UV protection. You can do it but your longevity will be cut in 1/2.

I live in Southgate Michigan by Detroit and was looking for something that would last. Im redoing this deck every year and its been grueling. Also i wanted something with a thicker color. Not a paint but not a transparent light stain.
We do not have thicker colors but darker or richer. You would want the TWP 100 Series.

Please tell me what to do with our decks & railings. We have a treated wood deck & a 1 yr old connected. What should we do to make it look the same? Also Should we use something different for the rails & spindols?
Use the Gemini Restore Kit if no previous stains on the wood for the prep. Stain with either the 100 or 1500 Series.

I have been using Olympic product for years in Connecticut. Recently ran across this exploring other options. Which product do you recommend for Comnecticut? Olympic usually lasts two years. Deck has Olympic Semi transparent with some residual stain.
Strip off the Olympic and brighten the wood as well. Stain with the TWP 1500 for CT.
TWP 1500 is a Semi-transparent Oil-Based wood stain and preservative that is allowed in all 50 states.
The new TWP 1500 formula is designed to penetrate better, dry faster and outperform the previous TWP 500 series formula.
TWP 1500 Series is an EPA registered wood preservative which prevents structural damage and wood decay on exterior above ground wood surfaces such fencing, decking, wood siding, log homes, and roofing. TWP 1500 Series resists water absorption that causes warping, cracking and splitting as well as preventing freeze damage in colder climates.
TWP 1500 Series is a low VOC preservative with special U.V. absorbing pigments that prevent unsightly wood graying, darkening and fading. The selected mildewcides inhibit the growth of mold and mildew which assist in preventing premature discoloration.
