Make Restoring Your Exterior Wood ...Easy!

info buttonRestore-A-Deck Cleaner and Brightener system is a powerful "eco-friendly" two-part restoration system.

Step 1 Wood and Deck Cleaner that deeply cleans your wood to remove dirt, grime, mold, algae and general graying. The cleaner will help prep neglected wood and or prep for re-coating with a wood or deck stain.

Step 2 Wood Brightener is used after the wood cleaner to "brighten" the wood while neutralizing the cleaner to a natural pH balance. This step will improve the overall appearance of your wood while helping the wood deck stain longevity.

I'm replacing parts of my deck that have deteriorated. I plan to stain using TWP 100 about 2-3 months after installation to let the wood dry out. Should I use a mill glaze remover as well?

Kathy, I am sorry but we do not sell just the cleaner.

Used the kit on our front deck which had not been cleaned in 13 years. Had to use the whole bottle but worked great!! However, now want to do the back deck and just need the cleaner as we still have plenty of brightner left. Can we just order the cleaner?

You would need to scrub somewhat with the Gemini Kit.

I have a T&G white pine porch ceiling that has some mildew stains. Can the cleaner be used to remove mildew instead of bleach? If so will i need to scrub? I usually use bleach to remove mildew without scrubbing but I dislike using bleach as it makes me ill. If i can find something that will also remove mildew without scrubbing I will gladly use it.

Is there a kit that includes the stripper and the brightner? Has anyone used the stripper to remove Sikkens stain?

Brighten as soon as you are done with the cleaning while the wood is still wet.

Stain 2 days after the prepping.

I bought the restore-a-deck kit to prep my PT pine deck for TWP 100 stain.

How long do I need to wait between cleaning and brightening?

Also, how long to I need to wait to stain after brightening?

1 year ago, after having a new deck installed, I used the Restore-A-Deck products after one month and then used the TWP stain. It still looks good, but is there any maintenance I should perform this year, such as power washing or cleaning?

Joel, Gemini is also a manufacture of TWP and has found that the Gemini Restore Kit works much better for prepping the bleach and is safer as well.

I was reading on Amteco's website that to prepare new wood you need to bleach the deck (50% bleach, 50% water), then pressure wash it and let it dry before staining. I usually follow the instructions of the manufacturer, but I see you recommending a different product and solution.

Daniel1, If you use the stripper you do not need the cleaner. It will remove gray.

If I use the stripper do I need to use the deck cleaner or can I skip that step and go straight to the brightener? Will the stipper remove gray wood?

Best to do a light cleaning and brightening to prep for a maintenance coat of stain.

I put on a new deck and used TWP stain in the fall. I would like to put a second coat on this spring.. Do I use the deck cleaner without the wood brightener not to remove the first coat or do I use both or neither to retain but clean the first coat.?

Yes it would be best to prep the fence first with the Restore Kit.
