We live in Michigan and have a 20 year old deck that’s been power washed and stained every 2 to 3 years.
It was stained 3 years ago using cedar tone 100. The flooring is pressure treated wood but the railings, skirting and other trim is cedar. The stair treads are pressure treated wood trimmed in cedar. We are trying to decide between the cedar tone 100 and 500. We also need a recommendation for cleaning and prepping. Finally, we are not sure how many gallons of stain and cleaner we need to order. We’ve always paid a company to do the job, but are planning to tackle it ourselves this year.
    We have the following measurements:

    Flooring: 44 ft x 43 ft
    Railing: 96ft x 5.5”
    Steps: 2 at 53” x13”
    10 at 48” x13”
    2 at 49” x 13
We also have a gate (see picture)
We aren’t sure how to calculate for the skirting, which is all cedar.

What is ultraviolet screening ? I plan to use 100 pro clear 100 without ultraviolet screening. In summer sun is deck floor hotter with or without ultraviolet screening

Not sure what you mean by UV "screening". The TWP 100 Clear has no pigment which means it will not protect from UV oxidation/graying. It must be tinted if you want to protect it from this.

I have a pergola that I was built about 3 months ago and now I was t to stain. Do I need to power wash or is it good to go. I’m in Charlotte NC and I’m thinking of using 100 Walnut. It’s going on weather treated pine.

Obviously I need to restain. I believe it was previously stained with a mix of 101 cedar tone natural and 116 rustic oak. My question is how was the almost solid look come about when a Semi transParent stain was used?

      TWP Stains · 07/27/2020
That is not a solid stain look but it was way over applied and dried on top of the wood. You will need to remove all down to the bare wood when prepping before recoating. Strip and sand to remove all and then brighten the wood.

    Good afternoon,
I am using the TWP product for the first time. This deck was previously stained with a TWP product . Looks like a solid stain to me. After a thorough power washing and proper drying what product do you recommend to re coat with ? 100 or 1500?? The color is Dark Oak. Should it be completed using the Wet in Wet method? Thank you
