What color(s) are similar to twp 100 series pecan stain on new cedar. I will order a few samples but hoping to get a recommendation for a few choices to get started.

No colors will match and the color will vary based on UV light. Try Applachian Trail, Latte, Earth, Cedar Mulch.

Can the pro series be shipped to Massachusetts? If not is there a way to mix a charcoal color in the 1500 series?

Only the 1500 is allowed in MA and we do not do custom colors, just the stock colors.

Right, but which cedar of the three semi solid matches closest in color to the semi-transparent cedartone? Thanks!

One of the 3 we mentioned. Colors vary based on wood type, age of the wood, etc, so there is no way to say for certain which would be closest on your deck.

I’ve got a pine deck, the wood is good quality and fairly old (late 80’s). I’ve sanded the entire thing and I’m getting really frustrated with stain/sealer. I want to keep the nice bright color of the wood and Thompson’s water seal has made it look dingy and dirty. I tried Behr Waterproofing Stain and Sealer Penetrating Oil in Cedar Naturaltone and it looks even darker. What can I put on this deck to protect it but keep the wood as light and clean as possible.

We are in northern GA and have a PT deck that looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in a number of years (by previous owners). We used a store bought deck cleaner and pressure washed it. We will sand using 60 grit next. Question is are there any advantages to the 100 series vs 1500 vs semi-solid for PT wood in our area. We get high humidity and lots of rain. Secondly, would you recommend we repeat the cleaning process using your product? There doesn’t appear to be any stain applied previously.

Is simi-solid pro series suitable for a lake dock?  If I sand pressure treated wood, is there any other prep work required?  Do you ship to SC and GA?

    From Houston, Texas:
About a year and a half ago used TWP 101 Cedartone Natural on our deck that is partly shaded and part in full sun. The shaded area still looks great, but the sun exposed area is beginning to look dry and weathered--clearly it is now time to redo.
    Questions:
    1. Would there be an advantage to use your new produt--Semi Solid Stain rather than the Series 100 since wood takes a beating in the Houston heat and sun? Will it be more durable?
    2. If so--hopefully--we wouldn't have to strip, just clean/brighten--is that correct????
    3. What would we do about the shaded areas that still look good. This area runs continuous with the area that is exposed to sun?
    4. Also with this new product--is it recommended to do the wet on wet application?
    5. What color of the Semi Solid Stain most closely matches Cedartone Natural?

I have the same question but I have been using the 1500 series.

Sorry, we never saw the previous posted question.

-You will need to strip and brighten for prep if switching. It is very easy and not any harder than cleaning and brightening. Just removing all the old stain.
-The semi-solid will give better UV protection from fading.
-You would have to strip and brighten all wood.
-If applying a second coat, wet on wet would be correct.

Colors do not match exactly. Best to try some samples.

You say resists fading more. Any idea how much more? I need something with more than 2 or 3 years. Southeast Wisconsin siding facing west, unobstructed by a lake.

            Hello,

Nothing will last more than 2-3 years on a vertical deck. If you put it on vertical siding, then you will get twice as long. 4-6 years.
