The TWP 200 Series was designed for shakes and shingles but can be used for all exterior wood surfaces such as fencing, log homes, cedar framed homes, etc.

TWP 200 Series is a semi-transparent oil based penetrating finish designed to extend the life of exterior wood such as cedar shake siding, and shingles. Containing a paraffin oil, TWP 200 series penetrates wood extremely well. The Paraffin oil is a "non-drying" oil that enhances the wood cells structural stability. This greatly improves the woods life and appearance.

TWP 200 Series primary function is to enhance the structural integrity and appearance of aged roofing. The finish composition will minimize grain cracking, cupping, surface erosion, water absorption and surface attack from mildew and algae.  Although the system is highly penetrative, the residual surface film is highly resistant to destructive organisms.  The penetrative portion of the product absorbs into aged and porous wood, adding bulk to aged and brittle wood fiber.  This restores lubricity and flexibility to brittle shingles.  At 94%+ solids, these products comply with all current federal and state VOC (volatile organic compounds) regulations.

TWP 200 SERIES will not crack, peel or blister making maintenance an easy task to perform for extended wood protection.

The surface Prep Instructions of new Cedar Shakes calls for water wetting of the shakes 2 times, waiting at least 48 hours after each wetting step. This is to open wood grain and remove tannins from surface. Won't the wood grain close back up after the drying period is over? TWP200 is the product. thanks

    I have previously purchased TWP 206 Russet Brown stain for my cedar deck pergola, railings, and support beams. This color is not currently shown on your weg site. Has it heen discontinued? If so, what TWP product would be a good substitute?

    No you cannot add tint to darken the clear. Might want to clean off the prints then use the clear as is.

    I stained my cedar shingle home and deck with TWP501C natural cedar. What other TWP stains will match this stain color in the 100, 200, and 1530 series? Also is it true that a darker stain holds up better in longevity? What would be a little darker but similar to the TWP501C natural cedar stain in all series? Is Twp501C discontinued? Thank you

    The 1501 Cedartone is the same color as the 501 Cedartone that is not longer available.

    I live in Atlanta. Part of my deck was rebuilt due to storm damage. The rails are new treated pine (some kiln dried, and others treated but not dried). The floor is about 10 year old treated pine, which has weathered over time.
    I want to treat the deck and porch, and would like the new and old wood to match as much as reasonable. I do not want a solid color coating. What product and possible colors do you recommend? 100? 200? 1500?

    Assuming we can find a darker color we like is it OK to use the 100 series over the top of the 200 series for our deck? How about the 1500 series? Or should we stay with the 200 series? The 200 series was put on a few years ago.

    The 201 Cedartone does not match the 101 or the 1501. Closest would be the 1501.

    A few years ago I used Shake and Shingle Cedartone 201 to stain my deck. I need to restain my deck again.

    What types of TWP can I use? Can I use a 100 or 1500? I want to use roughly the same color.

    No you cannot use TWP on top of the Cabot. You would need to remove the Cabot first.
