    The cedartone picture above does not do justice in how beautiful this stain appears in the sunlight on a recently stained deck. When I powerwashed decks for a living in the late 90s, I would powerwash a deck, sand the railings and deck, repound / replace nails, and then stain the railings first with 2 coats. I would then stain the deck with 2 coats. it appears much darker than normal but after about 2 weeks, the stain lightens to a beautiful golden hue. Every customer loved it. To get this you have to powerwash the deck and railings completely and allow to dry.

    If the fence is a "rough" wood then you can stain right away. If smooth then you need to wait for 4-12 months then clean and brighten for the prep. TWP 100 for this.

    Do I understand that you recommend a vertical western red cedar fence be given time to age before staining with TWP 100?
    This fence is located in the high, 7800 ft, arid desert valley of Gunnison, CO. We will also use on a small deck/stair of pressure treated pine/fir. Is the 100 the best choice for our jobs?

    I need to restain my deck up at my cabin. Its at 8500 ft altitude and has severe winters and then sunny summers with temps in the 80's. What would you suggest prepping with/cleaning/stripping and I was hoping to use your 100 series stain. Is there anywhere to buy it in Utah?

    1. Not sure what you mean about leaving extra stain.

    3. You cannot apply a urethane on top of TWP. It is not to be top coated.

    I'm doing an exterior wall out of OSB 4'x8' sheets and want to stain it in Dark Oak. It's under a deck so it shouldn't get much direct rain. The wall itself is about 150 sq'. One of the things I want to do is get the panels really dark in the nooks and crannies of the OSB and then do a light sanding on the very tops to bring out some of the wood grain. Then I would like to clear coat it with an exterior urethane.
    1. Will it be okay if leave extra stain in the depressions of the OSB?
    2. How much stain should I order?
    3. Can I coat this with urethane is there a better product?

    For central VA I would use the TWP 100 Series. New wood should season for 4+ months, then prepped by cleaning and brightening before TWP is applied.

    The grays in the TWP are not considered solid colors. They are more of a semi-solid. I would contact the manufacturer for help at Gemini Coatings.
