  • 100% biodegradable - will not harm plants or pets

Important Note: Gemini Safe Strip Stain Stripper may not fully remove Solid Color Wood Stains, Paints, Varnishes, and Excessively Over-Applied Acrylic Semi-Transparent and Semi-Solid Coatings. To remove these deck and wood stain types, use the RAD Paint & Solid Stain Stripper

Surface Preparation:

Injecting:

1. Put injector hose into undiluted Injectable Safe-Strip container. Inject desired working area (200-300 sq. ft. recommended). Injector ratio 12:1 or lower.

2. Although Injectable Safe-Strip has little or no dwell time, 5 minutes of product working time is recommended. Pressure wash, working area thoroughly.

Ready-to-use:

1. Pour Injectable Safe-Strip into container. Add 4 parts water (1 gallon makes 5 gallons, 5 gallons makes 25 gallons). Apply liberally to wood surfaces. Best application results are with a Deck Sprayer. After application, always keep working area moist during surface preparation.

2. Once applied you may begin to scrub (NO SCRUBBING NECESSARY WITH USE OF PRESSURE WASHER). When scrubbing applied area, use synthetic, stiff bristle brush; do not use a wire or natural bristle brush.

3. Rinse thoroughly with hose or pressure washer. A pressure washer will show the best results.

* Use caution when using Safe Strip. Wet surfaces will be slippery.

Coverage Rate: Approximately 500-1000 square feet per gallon.

Wolman deck stain is peeling in some places and I would like to try TWP 1500 deck stain since it claims to have much better resistance to peeling. Can I use Safe Strip to adequately prepare my deck for TWP application?

It removes most semi-transparent stains but it will not remove thick water based acrylic stains such as BM Arborcoat or Behr. Those stains act like paints in that they film on top of the surface.

In the description for Safe Strip it says \"Removes oil-based and water-based semi transparent stains and sealers\" however in almost every comment you say that Safe Strip will not remove semi-transparent stains. Which is it?

Safe Strip will not remove the BM Arborcoat. I doubt anything will remove it effectively. Probably will need to sand it off.

    Hello

I used Benjamin Moore Arbor Coat stain which is a water-based semi-transparent stain. Can I use Safe Strip to remove it or do I need something stronger?

    Thanks.

Any good quality deck stain stripper should work to remove the Cabot. Cabot makes one that is designed for their stain.

I have a 4 yo treated pine deck that was stained with Cabot semi-transparent Cedarton stain. Some stain is still present in some areas, and is washed off of other areas. What stain removal product should I use? Thanks.

I have a 4yo deck of pressure treated pine. The current stain is Cabot semi-transparent cedartone. It is still present in some areas and washed off in others. I would like to re-stain with TWP 1501. What product do you recommend for removing the old stain? Thanks.

The Solid Strip is not longer available and the Safe Strip will not remove a \"paint\" like stain. There is nothing on the market that will effectively remove a paint from a deck. Most likely you will need to sand it off.

I have a deck that (I believe) was treated with Woodsman semi-transparent oil deck stain. I have an empty can the previous homeowner left that appears to be the same color as the deck, so I assume that\'s what it is. However, it\'s more paint-like than stain-like (it was color matched to the house) and while it says oil deck stain, parts of it are peeling like a paint, leaving gray wood underneath. So I\'m not really sure what\'s on the deck.

Anyway, from your previous responses, I was going to purchase your Solid Strip to deal with this, but I can\'t find Solid Strip on your website. Is that product still available? If not, can you recommend something that would adequately prepare the deck for your TWP 100 series?

    Thanks much!

Safe Strip is probably not strong enough to remove the Deckscapes

I am getting ready to re-do my deck. It was previously stained with Sherwin-Williams Deckscapes (Cedar Toner). I have 2 questions. 1> will safe strip remove the old stain. 2> I have powder coated aluminum ballusters--will safe strip harm them?

I tried using safe strip on my deck. Took off a little but not a lot. I then went and got another full-purpose stripper from Lowes. That took off some more, but not everything. Do I 1) paint over it as is, 2) treat it with a chemical stripper again, 3) rent a floor sander, or 4) something else?

What is best to use on a brand new pressure treated deck to remove mill glaze and prep it for twp stain?

If it is the clear unpigmented Thompson\'s, then yes it will remove it. It is a semi-transparent, then you would need the Solid Strip.

You can go ahead and apply TWP after using the Safe Strip.

Will safe strip remove Thompsons transparrent stain, and can I reseal after safe strip,or do I have to cleaner and brightener first??

Neither will remove the Behr. The Restore-A-Deck is a cleaner and the Safe Strip will not remove the Behr. The Behr must be removed as TWP cannot be applied on top.

This would be your best choice:

Hi, I have a stained deck that is not in very bad shape.
I stained with Behr products 2 years ago, it\'s starting to peel off in some areas, but most of the deck is still in quite good condition.

What would you recommend to prep the deck for TWP-1500 application??
Safe Strip, or the Restore-A-Deck product?? Or both??

    Thanks,
    John.
