I've bought a cabin and want to stain with 1500 series. I don't know what has been put on it in past so what prep should do to prepare for staining?

Do you have a picture? It would help to determine the proper prep.

The Defy extreme is a water based stain by the way. Thanks again, Amado

I plan on using TWP 1516 on a 1 year old deck. Currently the deck has Defy Extreme on it, and after a year, it has faded and lost its water repellent qualities. Should I use the stripper or the cleaner to remove it, before applying the TWP stain?

    Thanks,
    Amado

After a year of seasoning, I plan to apply TWP to two buildings which are sided with steel on top and pressure treated wood on the bottom. Two questions:

    1. Would you recommend using the RAD Stripper this time, or just the RAD Brightener?
    2. Is there any risk of corroding the steel with the RAD products?

Hello, I am not seeing any natural/unstained wood in your picture. Looks painted green and taupe. TWP can only be applied to unstained/not painted wood. Please elaborate as to where you plan on applying and the wood current condition.

The pressure treated wood is on the bottom half of the barn sides and rear, and also the bottom sides and rear of the small run-in building behind it. This wood is obscured a bit by the paddock fence (which will also receive TWP this year!) so I'm posting a photo of the run-in before it was placed in the paddock. Thanks!

I'm presuming the wood brightener is the same product that comes with the stripper pkg and the Gemini wood cleaner pkg. I have an enclosed deck that's partially stained. I'm guessing to re-stain the deck I should do the following:

Strip the stained areas using the stripper

Apply wood cleaner to the unstained areas

Apply wood brightener to the entire deck to neutralize the wood in prep for restaining

Is this the correct procedure or would you recommend a different approach?

    Thanks,
    Dave

On vertical wood like a fence, the TWP should last 3-6 years depending on the UV exposure.

We applied two coatings of Cabot from Lowe's on our Cedar fence and would like to remove and add TWP to make our fence last for years
What is the best way to remove ? use the stripper with a sprayer first or add stripper with pressure washer for best results
And how long before applying TWP 1500 after ?

Apply the RAD Stripper with a pump sprayer and then pressure wash off. Apply the wood brightener to neutralize when done. Wait about 48 hours after the prep.

We have a home that the previous owners coated with Cabot. I believe the Cabot is more than 10 years old so we plan to strip the wood and apply TWP 1500. I noticed in a previous question the restore a deck stripper/brightener wouldn't work with a different brand. Will it work o strip the Cabot?

The RAD stripper works very well to remove other brands. What type of stain is the Cabot? Post a picture if you can.

My Flood UV5 has been on the house about 6 yrs. Its lost it look-do you think it would still be an issue to cover it with your oil base 100 or 1500 after a bleaching/cleaning? PS; I've read that the 100 will last longer than your 1500. Comments please!

TWP cannot be applied over a stain of a different brand so the Flood will need to be removed. The TWP 100 and the 1500 will last about the same for a house.

You make a statement that when using a pressure washer your stripper and brightener will cover 750 to 1000 sq. Ft. dose the coverage also apply when using a garden sprayer?

Coverage is the same when applying with a pump sprayer or with a pressure washer.

With the RAD product...What are the concerns with surrounding vegetation , e.g. lawn, shrubs and plantings...

Cover any delicate plants. The rest should be pre-wet and rinsed of any overspray right away.

I have a deck with some algae growth. Do I need to add a cleaning step in between stripping and brightening?

No. The stripper will help to remove the algae.

Will the stripper and brightener remove CWF-UV from a Pine Log cabin? Or can you use Restore-a-Deck? Cabin is 25 years old and last CWF-UV was applied 10 years ago. Plan to use TWP 100 or 1500 afterwards.

Use the Restore A Deck Stripper. Brightener Kits and pressure washing to remove for the prep.
